Hoffmann End Table

Based on a 1903 design by the Austrian, Josef Hoffmann, these tables show why well designed furniture is always in style. Both examples shown have white oak bases with cypress tops; the black table has been ebonized while the white one has been bleached. The grain of the cypress tops has been enhanced through the “jin-di-sugi” treatment. The center checkerboard is ebony and ivory made from recycled piano keys. The black & white version was awarded "Best in Show" and "Best in Furniture" at the Maine Wood 2012 juried competition.
