Kevin has been building and designing fine custom furniture In Maine for 40 years. He opened his own shop in 1986 after working at Thos. Moser Cabinets in New Gloucester, Maine, for 7 years. He and Jonathan Binzen co-authored the book: "Arts & Crafts Furniture: from Classic to Contemporary," which in 2004 earned a coveted OAT Award from the American Library Association as an outstanding academic title in Arts and Architecture. He also writes articles for Fine Woodworking magazine and has frequently taught at the Center for Furniture Craftsmanship in Rockport, Maine and other woodworking schools around the country and in Australia.
“My design work draws inspiration from past masters,” Kevin notes, “including the International Arts & Crafts Movement, traditional Asian furniture design, and architectural forms. But I always strive to make each piece contemporary in sensibility, and meaningful to our present lifestyles and environment.”
Kevin works on a commission-only basis and takes personal responsibility for every step of a project, from wood selection and layout to the final finish. His studio/shop in Brunswick, Maine, is a one-person operation. Kevin considers each piece of his furniture to be an investment, not a commodity. Each commission will last for generations.
