I have been designing handmade custom furniture in Maine since 1986. The foundations of my designs are: architecture, Asian design and the International Arts and Crafts Movement. I consider my designs to be modern, made for the present, but with firm references to past fine furniture forms that have withstood the test of time.
I am pleased to announce that I will be an exhibitor at the annual Smithsonian Craft Show this coming April. For more about the show go to: http://smithsoniancraftshow.org
An audio slide show of my approach to design, using past peices as examples, can be viewed at this link:http://www.finewoodworking.com/audioslideshow/30149/index.asp?slideshow=30149.
I am co-author of the the book, Arts and Crafts Furniture; from Classic to Contemporary, and occasionally write for Fine Woodworking magazine. I also teach part-time at several woodworking schools around the country, see the "Writing and Teaching" page for my current schedule.
