The headboard of this luxury custom made bed is also a small bookcase with sliding doors toward the front and a compartment on each side with a hinged door for more storage. The height of the head and footboards can be varied per your requirements. The total depth of the headboard is 12 1/2" leaving an inside depth of 8”. The footboard consists of two short square posts with a solid board between them shaped to mimic the back of the headboard. The through joinery is a fine example of Maine furniture making. The bed is securely assembled with 4 special bolts and a wrench that I supply.
